A web platform for HVAC calculations, thermodynamic properties, and engineering references — accessible from any browser or mobile device.

As a mechanical engineer, I often found myself in situations where I needed quick references or calculations in the field, but didn't always have access to heavy software or printed tables. That's what led me to build MechToolkit — a web-based platform I designed and developed myself, available at mechtoolkit.vercel.app.
MechToolkit is a collection of engineering tools accessible directly from a browser, including on mobile devices. It's designed for both engineering students and working professionals who need fast calculation results without opening large software. The approach is straightforward: results accurate enough for preliminary estimates, accessible anytime.
1. Cooling Load Calculator Calculates the cooling load of a room using the CLTD method and ASHRAE standards. Useful for preliminary estimates before proceeding to detailed calculations with professional software.
2. Psychrometric Calculator One of the most frequently used features. Reading a psychrometric chart manually takes time and precision — this tool simplifies the process. Input two parameters such as dry-bulb and wet-bulb, or wet-bulb and relative humidity, and all moist air properties are calculated instantly, complete with a plotted psychrometric chart.
3. Refrigerant Properties Allows users to look up thermodynamic properties of refrigerants by entering temperature or pressure alone. All relevant properties are displayed on a single page, eliminating the need for manual reference tables.
4. Converter & References Includes unit converters for pressure, temperature, power, flow rate, energy, length, and mass. Engineering references such as Steam Tables, Air Properties, and Water Properties are also available — based on data from ASHRAE, NIST, and Çengel & Boles.
MechToolkit was developed in response to a real need in the field. It is not intended to replace professional software, but rather to serve as a practical aid that speeds up preliminary calculations and early decision-making — particularly when access to full engineering tools is limited.
Going forward, development will continue with the addition of Duct Sizing, Pipe Sizing, and Chiller Performance Calculator features to expand the HVAC coverage of the platform.
